What is GPR?
GPR, short for “Ground Penetrating Radar” is an imaging technology used for subsurface earth exploration.
GPR uses electromagnetic wave propagation to image and identify changes in electrical and magnetic properties in the ground. GPR systems are used to locate underground utility lines, monitor airplane runways for structural integrity, conducting groundwater studies, detect unexploded land mines as well as forensic research and surveying land for Construction Purposes.
PCTE have a range of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment. From very small compact systems with limited data processing and depth (Handy Search), to larger systems specifically designed for 3D scanning of core sites, so as to miss services and reinforcing (Conquest), to cutting edge system with multi-frequency and polarisation antenna for the true professional (Aladdin).
/Products/Concrete-Gemetry/Handy-Search/handy-search-small.aspx) The Handy Search by JRC is a miniature GPR set with a limited penetration depth. This lower cost alternative is a great entry level piece of equipment for the consultant or coring company looking to exploit the ease with which GPR can locate embedments in concrete.

The Ground Penetrating Radar offers rapid on-site imaging for cutting, coring, drilling or characterization of concrete slabs with little or no design drawings. The Conquest Ground Penetrating Radar uses radio waves to locate objects of differing dielectric constant. Therefore materials such as plastics, metals, and filling material can be located.

/Products/Concrete-Gemetry/Aladdin/Image-1-(small).aspx) /Products/Concrete-Gemetry/Hi-Mod/Hi-Mod-Small.aspx) IDS have taken the GPR to the next level with their Aladdin system. Aladdin is unique on the market due to its ultra-high frequency (2 GHz), full-polar antenna which delivers unmatched resolution and only requiring half the survey time. The Aladdin also features a patented Pad Survey Guide which increases operation efficiency and image resolution.

/Products/Concrete-Gemetry/Hi-Mod/Hi-Mod-Small.aspx) The Hi-Mod is a modular subsurface and utility mapping radar system. It can be used for surveys prior to construction, as an aid to "No-Dig" excavation and to map utility locations to existing CAD drawings. The Hi-Mod can hold up to 4 dual frequency antennas offering higher resolution surface scans and a penetration depth of up to 9m.
