Product Focus: Zehntner
In 2017 Proceq acquired fellow Swiss company Zehntner GmbH Testing Instruments. Zehntner is a manufacturer of precision measuring and testing instruments for the QC of all types of surfaces. PCTE is happy to announce that we have added to our already burgeoning range the Gloss and Lab division of products for distribution in Australia and New Zealand. Gloss is the optical property of a surface to reflect light into the specular direction, an important appearance factor.
The visual impression of gloss is dependent on the individual perception; therefore, the gloss values are determined using glossmeters. Zehntner is the leading manufacturer of top class gloss meters. The growth of technology increases continuously the require ments on physical properties of coating materials, adhesives and similar products. Zehntner offers a wide product range of measuring and testing equipment for the quality control for various application areas and in many industries. We are really excited to engage with our customers about both product ranges and would be happy to assist with anybody’s enquiries in relation to these products.

Relative Density
Relative Density Test Set acc. to ASTM is used for the determination of the relative density of cohesionless soil for which impact compaction will not produce a well-defined moisture-density relationship curve and where the maximum density of impact method will generally be less than by vibratory method. The test is applicable to soils that may contain up to 15 %, by dry mass, of soil particles passing a No 200 (75-μm) sieve, provided they still have cohesionless, free-draining characteristics. Further, these test methods are applicable to soils in which 100 %, by dry mass, of soil particles pass a 3-in. (75-mm) sieve. The applicable standards for this test machine are ASTM D4253 (Method 1A—1B) and D4254.
Asphalt Indentation
UTAS-2130 Automatic Indentation Penetrometer determines the resistance of an asphalt cube and cylindrical specimens to indentation when force is applied to them using a cylindrical pin in a defined period. Maximum nominal size of the aggregates should be less or equal to 16 mm.
It complies with EN 12697-20.
Accelerated Polishing Machine
Accelerated Polishing Machine (PSV) is used to simulate the polishing action of vehicle tyres on a road surface, for coarse aggregate which is going to be used as asphalt road surface covers. It complies with EN 1097-8 and BS 812:114:1989.
