Product Focus: Universal Testing Machines

There are a number of options for Tensile Test machine is our range. The differ in capacity, loading options, available grips and controller types. The base level system is the UTM-3000. It has a 500kN capacity in tension 1000kN Compression) and can work in both compression and tension. It is generally a teaching system as it only has basic displacement recording.

The next system is the UTM-4000. It has a 600kN tensile capacity. It is hydraulic and so can only be controlled using load rate (ie N/s). This system has additional channels for high resolution displacement sensors. It also has a range of grip configurations for flat and round specimen. The UTM 6000, 7000 and 8000 are servo controlled systems with proportional valves. The have capacities in tension of 600kN, 1000kN, and 2000kN respectively. The main difference between the Hydraulic and Servo machines is the ability to use displacement control. Like the UTM-4000 you can purchase the system with additional high resolution displacement transducers. The Servo valve variants are the UTM-0600s, 1000s and 2000s can be used with advanced tests with P.I.D. Closed loop control and are perfect for Universities and R&D.The have capacities in tension of 600kN, 1000kN, and 2000kN respectively.

The final option is the Electromechnical UTM-8050 and UTM-8300. The have the most fine control in terms of displacement control allowing rates as little a 1 N/s. The capacity of the systems are 50kN (8050) and 300kN (8300), as such they are suited for weaker materials such as polymers. They are also available with a myriad of connector options and can be used for a huge range of tests (Marshall, UCS, Tensile, CBR etc)

Zehntner’ Coating Film Applicator range: A subsidiary of Proceq, Zehntner manufacture are range of Laboratory equipment for Coating application and testing. A broad range of handheld or automatic application system are available, along with accessory kits for other forms of testing such as Scrub or abrasion testing. Their most capable are the ZAA 2600 Automatic Film Applicator range. The operator may choose their application length and drawing speed with a touch screen controller, and use a range of accessories including heating surfaces, vacuum plates and new assemblies such as crock meters and scrub testers.
