MEMS Tilt Beam

GeosenseTiltBeamGeosense® MEMS Tilt Beams are used to measure tilt or differential settlement on structures and infrastructure. The can be mounted horizontally or vertically and are best used as chain of beams that can pick up differential displacement over the chain.

A highly accurate MEMS sensor and operation circuitry is sealed in a weathertight enclosure and mounted on a rigid GRP beam. The GRP beam has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, reducing thermal effects on measurement. 

The design of the beam and end fixings means the beam can easily be cut to any length on site to accommodate any unexpected changes or constraints.

Each unit is individually calibrated to provide the ultimate in system accuracy and repeatability. It can be used in conjunction with a hand-held readouts or automatic data acquisition systems. Units are typically supplied with a RS485/Digital BUS output. 

Applications

  • Monitoring tilt in retaining walls, diaphragm walls, concrete dams, party walls, structures and bridge piers
  • Differential displacement within tunnels
  • Monitoring of displacement of structures during compensation grouting
