MEMS Tilt Meter

Tilt-Meter

Geosense In-Place Tilt Meters are available in both uniaxial or biaxial options, which is measured from the plane(s) perpendicular from the base unit. Tiltmeters are useful to determine relative motion of a structure, such as lean due to undermining of building or the angle of a retaining wall.

Designed to be installed temporality or permanently, in either vertical or horizontal positions. The sensor’s output can be collected via a readout or connected into a data logger for continuous monitoring.

The tilt sensor is built in a rugged, heavy duty waterproof die-cast IP67 rated metal enclosure suitable for the harsh environments.

Output options include analogue (±V and mA) or digital (RS484). Each unit is supplied calibrated assuring accuracy and repeatability and can be used with any readily available data-loggers. The Digital Version offers the greatest measurement accuracies and minimises deployment & setup time with several sensors daisy-chained on a single cable minimising costly cabling requirement.

The sensing system built on the well-known MEMS technology offers built in features such as temperature and linearity compensation. A thermistor connected to the case compensates for in-field temperature fluctuations.

Available in a range of measurement ranges including ±5⁰ or ±10⁰ or ±15⁰ measurement ranges featuring a resolution from 0.0005° with an accuracy of ±0.0013° for the ±5⁰ sensor to ±0.004° for the ±15⁰ sensor. The complete range features a repeatability of ±0.002°
