The UTR-0540 Digital Point Load Test Apparatus is used for determining the strength values of a rock specimen, both in the field and in the laboratory.

The Point Load Test system consists of a 70 kN capacity load frame with a hydraulic loading ram driven by a hand pump and a digital readout.

Samples of up to 102 mm diameter can be tested, the frame includes a ruler so that the distance between the conical platens before and after the test can be measured accurately. The compression load is measured by a pressure transducer, the equipment is supplied in a transportable wooden case with face protective goggles.

Optional Accesories

UTR-0544 Lower and Upper (Spherical Seated) Loading Platens, Ø52 mm may be ordered separately.
