durAbar Borehole Probe Cover Meter
The Durabar Cover Meter is used to detect reinforcing bars near to a hole drilled into a concrete structure. The system is a handheld battery powered unit with a 10 mm diameter probe.
The system can be used for determining clearance from reinforcing bars for holes in which anodes for cathodic protection will be placed after the holes have been drilled into a structure.
It is not the correct system for locating the position of reinforcing bars in structures, nor for measuring the depth of reinforcing steel. A Profometer PM8000 is a better choice in this situation.
